D´Precious Box celebrates St. Patrik's Day...

Thursday is St. Patrik's Day!

And this date 17th of March is the death anniversary of my loving dad which in the Philippines is the patronal fiesta of San Jose. My family celebrates this day with a big bang (festivities) coz one reason is that this date is the birthdate of my late grandpa. Amazing coincidence, huh?

Anyways, in Sweden, life here is so neutral. Nothing much for celebrating. You can just hear the mumbling or complaining that Swedes are now more Americans. We more and more captivating on what the US bring to the world.

But for a Filipina like me, who grew up with the American way, misses those happy celebrations. As I can't find the things that I would like to have on Patty's day, I pick up my things and put them together and prepare my table, my way...

HERE'S THE KNICK-KNACKS I HAVE, MY WAY...

I started to gather the things plan for the table...
Now, it looks, I found the right motives?
Plates are Swedish stoneware from Höganäs & coaster from Sorrento
Centerpiece
Do you think this is pretty?
Oil & Vinegar modified to Sugar & Milk shaker & it works...
Coffee/tea spoon is vintage from GH great grandmother...
Ivory/silver dessert fork is also vintage while flatwares is Calströms silver
Hurricanes that I love most...
I love my depression glasses too...

I am joining Susan's meme at BNOP on her TS Day...
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY
ENJOY THE BEAUTIFUL SPRING-Y DAY

  8. Hey there, my friend! I hope you are doing OK. I read that this is the anniversary of the death of your Dad. I am sorry about that. Was the grandfather who was born on this same date his Dad? I know you must miss a lot of the festivities that go on here in the states, but life in Sweden has to be one of the most unique and fantastic experiences! I know it's very different, but just as you made your own fun and excitement with this great tablescape, I'll bet you do the same in your everyday life there! Is it still winter there? Have a really great weekend, Chie, and thank you for visiting my blog earlier today. I always love hearing from you! Take good care!

It is sad that you lost your dad on this date, but it seems that you have developed some wonderful family memories. I adore you grandmother's ivory fork.

  17. Hello there, WOW what a pretty blog. You are so clever. I love the way you have put some lace across the table. Is it a runner or have you been inventive with something else? I must confess, I tend to use many things for different uses. I have had a good look through your blog is is very inspiring.

Like you I am not living in my original country. I am English and living in New zealand. It too can be a little bit boring. Kiwis dont tend to get very excited about very much, unless it is playing sport or hunting. I miss the availability of beautiful things in the UK. Never mind......we must keep blogging and enjoying each others achievements. Jo

Having a BALL in our Outdoor cozy lounge...

AT LAST!!! Isn't it an easy life when our weather is not that HOT or too COLD ? ***  Det är så underbart liv när vädret tillåter. Absolut man får njuta det ljuva livet i solen. This is the time when I move our lounge outdoor and just loving to pamper it with my simple way and a dash of a chic style (at least) I feel it. *** En härlig dag sån här årstid. Jag flyttade vardagsrummet i uteverandan och den älskar jag. En enkel stil med en liten chic-touch! Here is my new outdoor LOUNGE!!!   Me & GH went for a morning walk (as always)   Preparing for a cozy outdoor lounge... I move the buffé table and gathered my treasures...  I gathered all my pensies in my galvanized tray... Inherited--- A Vintage and Delicate Treasure

A sofisticated to my eyes... When I was young, I know what we had on top of my family's table. I don't really care what kind of treasures we had? I just remember that my grandfather had a very fine china set and unfortunately ended to a wrong greedy grandchildren, my first cousin's wife. Mum inhereted some of the set and as I recall she adored them till her last breath. If I am still living in The Philippines, I would love to keep them by myself. Hopefully, dear sis will adore as Mum does. Then, my new life started when I marry GH and move to Stockholm, Sweden 25 yrs ago. I know my love of kitchen/tables gadgets, i.e. household utensils, deep in my heart. It was already forseen by many of our friends--- my pedantic way and the love of a house to make it a home. I thank you Mum for that. It is true the saying " what we had experienced from our childhood, is what we get when we have our own" ? Well, when GH mother passed away 2 decades ago, GH inherite

An absolutely fine day... me & GH went for a walk... to see---- Cherry blossoms BlooM to the Max... this is one of the attraction in time like this in Kingsgarden... On the way home, this advertisement from 7-Eleven catches my attention... Then met these witches, LoL* sharing their goodies... that's another way around, huh? Then, when we came home, nothing can stop US... GH fix the gazebo in the mini-house in the garden... And the real witch is busy with her chores! Guess she is ready to party!
